It’s funny to me that so many people, especially Pagans, seem to have such a hard time with the word “worship”. It seems to have become such a “dirty word” for most people. But why? You think that “honoring” is different? Do you think that “acknowledgment” is different? I hate to inform you but you are wrong. Yes, wrong. Words have a definition. That definition is not reliant upon your point of view. If it were then language and communication between humans would be impossible.
Is it that you see worship as being on your knees as a subject or slave to the gods? If so that is a very twisted monotheistic view of what worship is. Do you see it as cowering helplessly before an oppressive being? Again, if so then you are suffering from the twisted monotheistic world view.
Your point of view is what is skewing your understanding on the word and concept. Let go of you prejudiced view that is clouded by emotion and understand you are fighting a fight that is completely irrelevant. You tainted view of the word does not change the fact it IS what you are doing. It is the break down of people’s understanding of words that causes do much strife and struggle in life between each other.
